History of Our Shop  Our store is the oldest tobacco shop in the nation and the 2nd oldest business in Lancaster. (Lancaster is the oldest inland city in the USA) We've been in business for over 236 years. In fact, Demuth's Tobacco Shop is still in the original building where the company started. We did "recently" remodel though in 1917. The shop was redesigned by the well known architect, Emlen Urban, and all the cabinetry imported from England. With a history of quality and satisfaction, plus a staff with more than a century of combined experience, you won't find a better tobacco shop around!
